For me, I constantly feel hungry from my high intensity workouts and active lifestyle; I’ve always found it hard to get enough protein into my diet just from food alone.

Bursting Berry Protein Shake

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of almond milk
  • 1 packet of PrettyFit Vanilla Protein
  • ¼ cup of raspberries
  • ¼ cup of blueberries
  • 1 scoop of PrettyFit Greens (optional)
  • About half cup of crushed ice (depends on how thick you want it)

This protein shake is great if you want something low fat, low carb, and high in protein.

The strawberry banana protein shake is a personal favorite! I don’t enjoy bananas by themselves so this is a good way for me to squeeze in some potassium into my diet.

This particular shake is still low in fat, but has slightly higher carbs since there is more fruit added.

Like the berry shake, you can throw in your Pretty Fit Greens to make sure you’re getting your wholefood fruits and vegetables in!

Popular Peanut Butter Protein Shake

Ingredients

The peanut butter shake wasn’t named “popular” for just any reason; it’s what I would consider a classic. For anyone who loves Reese’s, or just chocolate and peanut butter in general, you need this in your life!

This shake is higher in fat than the other shakes, but it is monounsaturated fat, or “healthy fat”. This type of fat is less likely to be stored as body fat and it can help prevent heart disease, but let’s be honest, even if it didn’t it would still be way worth it!

Also, peanut and almond butters are an excellent source of protein!

Caffeine Crazy Coffee Protein Shake

  • 8 ounces of almond milk

  • ¼ cup brewed coffee (any flavor, all about preference)

If you, like myself, need a morning cup of coffee, then this is your shake. I am obsessed with coffee and entirely convinced I can’t function normally without it.

This protein shake tastes like iced coffee and is one of my regular drinks… see ya later Starbucks!

5. Tasty Thin Mint Protein Shake

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of almond milk
  • 1 packet of PrettyFit Chocolate Protein
  • 2 smashed up Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies
  • 1 tablespoon of Coffee Mate Thin Mint Creamer
  • ½ cup of ice

Ahh, Girl Scout Cookies. It’s that time of the year where you need to hunt down fourth graders so you can get your annual fix. I could eat an entire sleeve of Thin Mints in one sitting because they are TRULY THAT GOOD.

Unfortunately that wouldn’t fit into my macros, so in practicing self control, I created this masterpiece.

The thin mint shake is a dessert of sorts, but the macros aren’t too bad. The fat and carbs are the exact same as eating four cookies (a serving size), but this way you are still getting 20+ grams of protein in! That’s a win-win if you ask me!

The need for protein in your diet

There are so many advantages to adding a whey protein shake into your daily routine.

If you aren’t able to get enough protein from food alone then adding a protein supplement can make all the difference.

Using a whey protein powder is so beneficial because it digests quickly and it helps in muscle building since it has a high amount of leucine (a hydrophobic amino acid).

Personally I love having a daily protein shake to keep me full and stop my cravings.

Don’t be discouraged if your shakes don’t turn out perfectly at first. My first shakes tasted horrible, but after working in a gym for over a year I got the hang of it after a week and eventually had regulars coming to me for their daily shake.

Now I consider myself as a shake master, but hopefully someday you can get the hang of it too and it can help improve your diet and aid in achieving your aesthetic goals!
